thanks to tim’s tip on fixing the a certain ’spoolsv.exe’ problem.

he doesn’t seem to be blogging anymore, but many thanks to him wherever he is for not taking it all down. saved more than one person apparently.

and the fucked up rutgers wifi network has been the cause of one more virus.

for a hardcore google user such as me, the logic behind the infamous “google-2038″ cookie is a little worrying.

and voila ! a solution. do not forget to check the point about the new interface. very interesting.

and the “like wow !” feature of google talk for me today, was the dynamically sizing image preview during file transfer. very innovative. very google

an interesting perspective of our solar system.. a to-scale representation of the gigantic place we float around in.

and an interesting application. to manage windows that won’t go away. very sleek.

can’t think of anything else to say.

you learn something new everyday.. today it was about windows live, the windows way of integrating services to be accessible anywhere anytime anyhow. some interesting features have made an appearance - mail, messenger, security center.. given their next OS is due out soon, it’ll be interesting to see how this is integrated with that.
and the tip of the day - to get windows live mail -

1. Log In to your Hotmail account.

2. Go to Options.

3. In Personal Settings, change your country to United States and any state (I used New York and zip 10001).

4. Save it.

5. Don’t sign out, copy this link and paste it in the same browser window.

7. You will see a welcome to Mail Beta page, scroll down, and click on Join Mail Beta or Participate button. Eureka!!

8. Go back to Options, and undo country change.
