pubsubhubbub test #2

Testing latency of post-updating on Google Reader, using Feedburner’s inbuilt PSHB feature, turned off WP plugin.

Update: Even more instantaneous, published at 1439 hrs, appeared on Reader at 1439 hrs. I was PHSB enabled already (as I’ve been on FeedBurner for more than a year now), I just didn’t know it. Thanks to Louis Gray’s post as well as a 7 month old Adsense Feeds post which I completely missed. Google Reader, FeedBurner, Buzz teams all rock!

pubsubhubbub testing

If this shows up in Google Reader within a minute of my clicking publish, then we know pubsubhubbub is live on staying.cool.

Fingers crossed.

Sorry for the “nothing” post.

Edit (18 Jan 2010, 2334 hrs): Just showed up on my Reader. Supposedly published at 2331 on my blog. Probably working.. now you guys get to know when I randomly write on-the-spot! :D

i love k2

no matter how many themes i change, i come back to k2. clean, mean, features, customizable.. i really need to make a custom style to this one and stick to it. and its developed beautifully. i wonder if the svn version is any cooler than the official release.. which has ajax magic, one-click customizable sidebars, built in header image generation, support for a tonload of plugins i’m addicted to and blah, blah, blah…

yeah, and i know my left sidebar has a crapload of ads. deal with it. just trying something – i’m rarely successful with such ventures though.

gggaaaaaaaaahhh..

spent a coupla hours now trying to give a new look to my back-to-k2 blog, but its just not happening the way i want it to. asides-theming are a problem, as is the fact that for some reason the rolling archives only seem to load the first time i load the blog.

this particular flavour of k2, called sawchuck is prrrretty neat, and the reason i’m in love with it is now pretty obvious :) .

any of you facing any problems reading/navigating out there ? let me know, huh?

some beautiful classes, these.

add-on

interesting new widget – the ‘one year ago‘. and finally the advantage of dragging and dropping code is seen. since everything else is set up;experimentation might be very interesting, now..

when i try to kill time

…i’ve realised i don’t really kill it.

a new look for the blog has happened. its fauna customized, with some neat AJAX plugins. thats while i wait for k2 to be updated… the next one promises to be a major upgrade. i wanted to go back to squible, seeing as it has some great updates, but the beta 2 refused to work – widgets and all.

which brings me to my additions. simple theme, this.. no major frills. added AJAX for viewing comments and expanding posts, as well as a live preview of comments for you chaps. am using widgets for the first time, simpler theming in some ways, if the damned theme gets the implementation right ! my archives go back to being dull, as this theme is not very supportive of live archiving :(

am tending towards minimalism or kiwi – one a completely stripped blog; and the other a completely widgetized blog. 2 opposite approaches.. but the look is not coming out just yet. kiwi has enough features to play around with for ages.. the other would look sleek.

maybe in a week. should be bored enough by then.

memo to self: AJAX comments in any form and Spam Karma 2 do not go well together :(
