inter-confusion

July 13, 2006

WLM and Y! are interoperable now… and i’m confused about the client. one’s sleek, one’s feature-filled. can’t export/import though. crap. everything else looks good.
guess i’m sticking to GAIM until i see more features.. that i want. nice concept though.

its happening..

i’ve talked about the ultimate solution for information organization, and google seemed to have a good thing going with its personalized homepage; which seemed to be something similar to yahoo’s original idea, albeit more dynamic.
today, via slashdot, i discovered that homepages can be ultimate organizers too. and so, discover.
its all free.. and ajax desktops are the future. i wonder how far msn will take live.. though my grouse will be that it’ll be better viewed in IE than anywhere else.

we all know how microsoft really loves apple products… here’s another look at it. a little subtle, maybe; but look !

going live

January 2, 2006

you learn something new everyday.. today it was about windows live, the windows way of integrating services to be accessible anywhere anytime anyhow. some interesting features have made an appearance - mail, messenger, security center.. given their next OS is due out soon, it’ll be interesting to see how this is integrated with that.
and the tip of the day - to get windows live mail -

1. Log In to your Hotmail account.

2. Go to Options.

3. In Personal Settings, change your country to United States and any state (I used New York and zip 10001).

4. Save it.

5. Don’t sign out, copy this link and paste it in the same browser window.

7. You will see a welcome to Mail Beta page, scroll down, and click on Join Mail Beta or Participate button. Eureka!!

8. Go back to Options, and undo country change.
