kinda says it all.

kinda says it all.
the complete lack of anything to do meant that i planned a trip to switzerland. yes, finally.
plus, ashish is there, and i hadn’t seen him in 2 years… so added incentive. i don’t like to die.
a brilliant trip, best shown in pictures, which i will append to this post. had a great time there, with and without ashish - but mostly with :). talked, figured, analysed - did everything i’ve missed for a while.
a quick lowdown on the rest. depending on mood, i might elaborate.
a beautiful country, la suisse, i managed to see engelberg, meiringen, zurich, geneva, and lausanne. and parts of luzern too. the picturesque swiss countryside did not let me down, and i grew to love it.
meiringen, for those not in the know, is home to reichenbach falls, where a certain mr. holmes nearly plunged to his death. though ashish and i couldn’t understand what he was doing there on such a steep cliff. we discovered the beauty of meringue pie, and “fell” for it. pun intended.
engelberg is where the above picture (in the header) is taken. a gigantic glacier at the top of the mountain.. loads of fun - activities, scenery and the like.
luzern was where we managed a boat cruise on the lake - and realised the shortage of girlfriends.
the cities were beautiful, especially when i roamed the olden parts of the town. geneva has some beautiful gardens and sights that remain with you, but i personally preferred lausanne - a lot quieter and more picturesque than anything i’ve seen in a long time. the high point of zurich was literally its highest point: a breathtaking view of everything in a 10 mile radius possibly.
that was the “quick and dirty” as i believe they call it in newspaper parlance. be happy. and good.
oh, and “hopp schwiz !” is the swiss fan screaming “Up Switzerland !” only about 200 thousand times during a match.
funny that i should do that by filling in random memes stolen from my favourite: marie. plus she l-l-l-l-l-l-l-likes me according to the comments. score.
Where were you when 9/11 happened?
Not my clearest memories. Remembrances of staring at a TV screen - possibly in the morning - in shock, frantic calls to my folks in NJ to check on them. Mostly though, just horror. And wonderment that it happened.
What do you do when vending machines steal your money?
I stopped using vending machines ages ago. Except when I didn’t have a choice at work. Never really stole money. No guns or anything.
Do you consider yourself kind?
I thought I was. And thoughtful too. In my current mood, I don’t really know.
If you had to get a tattoo, where and what would it be?
Maybe something weird on my upper arm. I don’t know, tattoos are not really me.
If you could be fluent in any other language what would it be?
Tamil. Just to shock the living daylights out of everyone at home.
Do you know your neighbors?
Here, in Aberdeen, no. I think the flat next door is for sale.
Back in Mumbai, hell yeah. And the neighbouring building too.
What do you consider a vacation?
Umm.. currently work would be considered a vacation as I have nothing to do.
Under normal circumstances, a week elsewhere. No matter where. Preferably in a different house.
Do you follow your horoscope?
Just for the laughs. That too, if I find a paper with one in it.
Would you move for the person you loved?
Assuming such a person loved me back, yep.
..is never as simple as you think it is. or as you’d want it.
..involves compromise. and living with it.
..is unfair. which sucks.
..goes topsy-turvy over the smallest things. and never really comes back on track.
..has enough misunderstanding to make politics seem like friendship.
..is worst spent writing in cliches such as these.
