I try to say a lot while saying very little. Get used to it.
something shittily new..
we’ve all received the mail about how when we forward the bloody thing to as many people as possible; we’ll become billionaires thanks to bill gates apparently going completely crazy.. and giving away all his money.
i won’t even talk about my views on it.. suffice to say, its all i can do not to condemn the person who sent the mail out the first time to eternal damnation while watching dogs eat him, spit him out, regurgi.. [getting a little too graphic]..
well, for those of us who are uninformed [read dumb] enough not to have seen/heard/forwarded/read it; the text is as follows -
Dear Friends,
Please do not take this for a junk letter. Bill Gates is sharing his fortune. If you ignore this you will repent later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test. When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) for a two week time period.
For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $245.00, for every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that receives it, you will be paid $241.00. Within two weeks, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a cheque.
Regards.

now for the reason that i have wasted valuable blog-space on it. this email was received today morning – people are still forwarding it goddamn them! – addressed to about one-tenth of the 3 billion users of the internet.
obviously all the previous encephalic zombies who had forwarded it to the idiotic “friend” who sent it to me could be seen in the body of the mail.
their gems –
Ya its true..
They had already deposited in my bank a/c.. (Deenadayalan, Chandrakanth S)
oh, joy – short and sweet. however, this is just the beginning.
I have gotten 17934$ cheque some time ago for the same kind of mail. You can also try your luck (Ashish Gangwar)
yeah. now that is believable. however, still sticking to the short and sweet mantra.
I have also gotten 34271$ cheque last week for the same knid of mail. You can also try your luck(Naveen Kumar Gupta)
amazing how just changing the numbers makes it seem like a whole new mail. especially with the previous one just 2 lines down.
copy-paste. and i’m convinced.
Hi,
I got $9386. Was shocked!!! This is cool.
Please forward.(Ajay Shenoy)
nice. friendly.
dumbass.
Hey dudes and dudettes…….this is truly amazing……..I got $12,545 a few weeks back……it indeed works…..and hope it works out for all of u………for details contact me………..(Dinesh).
now the real convincing begins. “amazing”. big amount.
just a thought though, what details is he talking about ? my bank details would be with me.
or does he think [person in torment] will mail him back questioning his sudden “richness” ?
Hey guys !!!
this is cool
really really cooollllll
I forwarded this mail to three chaps just half an hour back and i just forgot about it..
then i saw my salary slip, checked my account in the net.
i was wonder stuck to see $30000/- added to my account !! transferred from ms office thru western money transfer !!!
its amazing guys !!!
Go for it.
Act fast. at least before this stupid bill gates gets bankrupt……….
and in case this is true, there is not much time left…..
so congratulations in advance….
for becoming a millionair so easily…
like me……
Thnks & Rgds,
(Praharsh)
this guy does not take the cake, but he certainly makes a great batter.
apparently his 3 friends forwarded it to so many people within half an hour, that now his salary slip (issued on-the-fly with calculations of the number of people forwarded to) reflects a western union money transfer.
one question, how does his salary slip reflect money transfers ? did banks decide to make all their transactions via your salary slip ?
as far as “this stupid bill gates” goes : dude… i don’t think he’s the one who should be called stupid here.
I got $12,101 credited with this months salary, that is why I am sending this to you guys. I am almost going mad. Planning to quit TCS and start a new company. You guys can join hands. What to say yarr???? (Ajay Joy)
and we have a winner.
$12000 and i can start a new company – after going mentally unstable too. not surprising he had to quit his job – but why join hands ? why not just paint a sign ?
i mean, for such a guy, that should be about the same as a start-up.
This is really amazing I also got 5000 dollars via DD from HDFC, thot it was fake but it really worked……….the amount has been created to my account, what did you get.
Thanks for forwarding this mail
(Amit Midha)
this seems to be a reply – i couldn’t be bothered to figure it out. this dude is closer to the mail text.. but apparently HDFC decided to give him the money on behalf of bill.
now don’t you wish we could always solve corporate economics like that ?
in conclusion : people are getting so much smarter nowadays…

‘Tis a little hard to come up with a good way of intro-ing topical posts, while including my own snarkiness in the mix.
Nevertheless, here goes nothing.
It sort of splits up.. oh, you’ll see.

my problem with hindi movies today
about 4 weeks ago - 8 comments
There have been any number of reviews about the latest from the Bollywood stable (My Name is Khan) – ranging from vitriolic to sarcastic/mocking to adulatory.
I could write reams, spew abuse galore, and point out in how many different ways the movie gets it wrong… but I won’t. That’s too easy. Plus, people have already done a pretty good job More >

Admittedly, one should not expect Schindler’s List from G.I.Joe: Rise of the Cobra. Is it too much to ask for just a modicum of sense though?
Apparently, we can extract neural impulses from a recently deceased person and then convert them to images. We can then analyze them for how long they have “decayed” (whatever that More >

No matter how many times I say it, it bears repeating: Moving SUCKS. Yes, all caps.

The ‘etcetera’ above is simply to assure myself that I’m not JUST writing about movies. Here’s the non-movie part of this review: The missus is in a foul mood for various reasons (most of them to do with me)… waitaminnit.. am I actually setting an apology up on this blog?

why you should never buy an HP laptop of any kind ever

Once upon a time I bought a laptop.
[I know that start is not as great as 'Many many years ago, on a galaxy far far away..' but you can pretend those words appear on the line above if they mean that much to you.]
Anyway. A laptop. An HP dv2500t. Yes, the very same laptop that More >

Moving sucks. SUCKS. Period.
And that series of long titles has been in honor of Dinosaur Comics. Bloody frickin’ awesome:
How he manages to get something pretty rockin’ everyday from the same 6 sets of images.. and not make it completely random is beyond me.
On a side note, and going back to the moving thing, I have More >

Coming on the heels of Dr. Shilpa Shetty , we now have this.
Like why?
Now not only does my current objective have no meaning, but the place I live in has the absolute lack of sense to honour Ms. Sherawat.
p.s. I like my wordplay in the title. A lot. Go figure.

I liked your comments & analysis more than the mail itself. This is probably a modern techy version of ‘old post cards’ mentioning what you will get from Lord Balaji or Sai Baba etc if you dont copy the contents (no ‘cut&paste’ in those days) on 12 post cards and mail to your near and dear ones!!
