does it all really matter ?
October 29, 2004hmm.. think of this as a kind of ‘guide to the universe’.
seriously.
because if you think about it, i’m actually cataloguing observations on the universe.
how am i different from all the millions of bloggers out there, many of whom are generally doing this for the last few years ?
i never said this was.
that referral to the universe..
this gigantic place we’re supposedly living in, which, for lack of a better word, we call the universe. extending to dimensions unknown. into regions that can’t even be imagined.
et al.
i don’t know if you noticed that i mentioned supposedly.
supposedly is right. after all, ‘the matrix’ could be true.
or we could be mental energies flitting from one freeze-frame to another; which our brain rationalizes as the passage of time.
we could even be completely.. as expected - a tiny planet in a corner of one of more than a million galaxies with a few blillion organisms existing on it.
who think they’re probably one of the only intelligent species in the universe.
it is possible that we are just mice for a far superior race, who’ve reared us in a gigantic maze called earth to monitor what happens.
it is also possible that [shudder] that these billions of organisms are right.
what are we ? do we really matter in the long run ? how do the many things we do everyday make any difference in the working of this universe ?
ironically, it is possible that, in all this craziness, the most insignificant of things is all that matters. as in the best thing that we could be doing in our life; is falling asleep at night !
i know that this is very cynical.. but then it is possible. and that gives rise to further cynicism. disillusionment. disenchantment.
frustration.
but that has not meant that we’ve stopped living. on the other hand, we’ve tried to prove that we’re better than any other.
it may not be any use but we do it anyway.
why ?
you got me there..
as the title asks.. does it all really matter?
laterz
p.s. there will be only 2 posts over the entire weekend.. sorry for all the inconvenience & all that..
